Our 15th Anniversary

The Idlewild Foundation is proud to announce that we have reached on 15th anniversary! In August, 2008, The Idlewild Foundation was born with the heart to support and encourage Godly stewardship and generosity. We exist to:

• Motivate our community to develop a Kingdom mentality in their wealth transfer and estate planning decisions and to make an eternal difference in their giving,
• Educate our community concerning the Biblical principles of stewardship and the financial tools available to implement those principles, and
• Facilitate wise Christian giving by providing the resources to insure the desires and objectives of the donors are met.

To strive to accomplish those goals, we have taught dozens of Bible study classes and small groups at Idlewild, taught and led seminars on stewardship topics including estate planning, counseled individuals on stewardship, finances and God’s will, raised funds that have been distributed in Idlewild and throughout the community to further the Gospel message and much more. We have been blessed to serve God by giving out over $1,300,000 in grants and almost $1,400,000 more through more than 470 educational scholarships. God’s generosity to us has been translated into generosity to His people. 

The work God has done in these short 15 years have been amazing. None of this could have been accomplished without our Savior Jesus who saved and motivates us, our supporters including Idlewild Baptist Church, its amazing pastors unmatched in their heart for their Lord, and our many, many donors who get the message of God’s generosity to all people. To all of those who have made this miracle possible, no one could say words of appreciation and gratitude better than the apostle Paul:

2 Corinthians 9:12-15
12  This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.
13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.
15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
