How much do you worry or feel stress about money?
Which of these best matches your attitude about control over your money?
What are your financial goals?
Looking back over the past five years, what have you done best and of what are you the most proud?
Where did the money and assets you have come from?
Money is the major source of marital unrest and 3/4 of Americans are financially stressed. What is your reaction to those facts?
Your use of money is:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Your reaction is:
Congratulations, you just won the lottery! The first thing you do is:
You were cleaning your closet and found $100 you didn’t even know you had. So you:
Jesus spoke more on money and possessions than on heaven and hell combined. Why?
What is your giving quotient?

YOUR CHRISTIAN FINANCIAL MATURITY LEVEL:

Paul said it best in 1 Corinthians 3:1-3a “Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly — mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly.” (NIV). But don’t get discouraged. It takes time and it is time to start growing to become the mature person in all aspects of your life that God desires. Maturity is a lifelong process, a distance race, not a sprint.

WHAT’S NEXT?

A lot. Start with a Financial Peace University course as a part of Idlewild’s Life Change University. The Dave Ramsey course will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely; invest for the future, give like never before and much more! You will learn much of the information that was hard to know as you took this short exam; and a lot more.

Know that the journey to a constant and comfortable walk with God involves recognizing that He is the owner of all, and that when we give, we are only giving back a small part of what He has already given to us. If you do not at least tithe, realize that there is a huge difference between giving God the first fruits or the left overs. Proverbs 3:9. The time to start is right now. Consider the joy of living the truth that it is more blessed to give than it is to receive. Acts 20:35. God has given you much. John 3:16. Be as generous to Him as He has been with you and you may be surprised at how He demonstrates His love further. In Malachi 3:10 God said, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” Go ahead, test Him!

Matthew 6:19-21
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Take a Financial Peace University course as a part of Idlewild’s Life Change University, if you have not already do so. The Dave Ramsey course will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely; invest for the future, give like never before and much more! If you do not tithe, realize that there is a huge difference between giving God the first fruits or giving Him some left overs. Read Proverbs 3:9. And know that 10% is a minimum tithe, not a maximum. In fact, there were multiple tithes under Jewish law and they totaled far more than 10%. Consider the joy of living out in your life the truth – it really is more blessed to give than it is to receive. Acts 20:35. God has given you much. John 3:16. Be as generous to Him as He has been with you.

Read Randy Alcorn’s book The Treasure Principle. If you can’t find it, call the office of The Idlewild Foundation and we will get a copy for you. Call The Idlewild Foundation for additional study and course materials on the joy of generosity and for ideas on how to expand your ministry of giving. If nothing else, meditate on the heart and meaning of the incredibly short, one verse, parable at Matthew 13:44.

Matthew 13:44
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
