Congratulations, you did well and have displayed a very good understanding of a very tough area of tax law.  You have been listening and reading.  Now keep going and expand your knowledge beyond giving and into other areas of stewardship knowledge.

Take a Financial Peace University course as a part of Idlewild’s Life Change University, if you have not already do so.  The Dave Ramsey course will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely; invest for the future, give like never before and much more!  If you do not tithe, realize that there is a huge difference between giving God the first fruits or giving Him some left overs.  Read Proverbs 3:9. And know that 10% is a minimum tithe, not a maximum.  In fact, there were multiple tithes under Jewish law and they totaled far more than 10%.  Consider the joy of living out in your life the truth – it really  is more blessed to give than it is to receive.  Acts 20:35.  God has given you much.  John 3:16.  Be as generous to Him as He has been with you.

Read Randy Alcorn’s book The Treasure Principle.  If you can’t find it, call the office of The Idlewild Foundation and we will get a copy for you.  Call The Idlewild Foundation for additional study and course materials on the joy of generosity and for ideas on how to expand your ministry of giving.  If nothing else, meditate on the heart and meaning of the incredibly short, one verse, parable at Matthew 13:44.

Matthew 13:44

44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

Don’t get discouraged despite the low score because this is a very tough area to understand and these results do not mean that you don’t love the Lord and fully understand your stewardship calling.  God is the great Giver and we are called to imitate Him (Ephesians 5:1).  Far more important than tax technicalities are the Biblical truths in God’s Word, which includes a great deal about our stewardship over what God has so generously given to us.

A lot.  Start with a Financial Peace University course as a part of Idlewild’s Life Change University.  The Dave Ramsey course will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely; invest for the future, give like never before and much more!  You will learn much of the information that was hard to know as you took this short exam; and a lot more.

Know that the journey to a constant and comfortable walk with God involves recognizing that He is the owner of all, and that when we give, we are only giving back a small part of what He has already given to us.  If you do not at least tithe, realize that there is a huge difference between giving God the first fruits or the left overs. Proverbs 3:9.  The time to start is right now.  Consider the joy of living the truth that it is more blessed to give than it is to receive. Acts 20:35.  God has given you much. John 3:16.  Be as generous to Him as He has been with you and you may be surprised at how He demonstrates His love further.  In Malachi 3:10 God said, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”  Go ahead, test Him!
